Sulis Hana Music

Therapeutic Sound & the Healing Voice ~ A seductive blend of ethereal neo-soul triphop, folk guitars, ethnic percussion, haunting strings, whalesong and eclectic vocals.

Singer/songwriter and guitarist from a young age, it was a natural progression for Jen, aka Sulis Hana, to go on to learn music production and set up her own record label, Contact Media.

Under the name JenJen (aka Mis-chief), she became a successful global DJ, playing top clubs and free parties throughout the 90’s…. one of only a handful of successful female DJ’s of the time., playing alongside Grandmaster Flash, Freestylers, Scratch Perverts, Roni Size, Daddy Gee (Massive Attack), Second to None and more.

Playing both live gigs and DJ sets for over 30 years, Jen, aka Sulis Hana, has toured UK, Europe, Ibiza, Vancouver, Seattle, Burning Man, Arizona, San Francisco, LA, Florida and Hawaii.

Under the name JenJen, she performed on numerous radio shows across SW England, playing both live music and DJ sets. She went on to host her own internet radio show, The Rip, with the first of its kind, global online radio station, Coldcut’s Pirate TV.

Jen’s previous band Snipe toured SW England, the West coast of America and the Burning man. The duo produced a remix of the jazz score for Ghost Dance, composed by Keith Harrison Broninski which they performed live at Nunney Jazz cafe in Frome, Somerset.  Snipe were sought after by 4AD, praised by John Peel, and were quoted as being “the next biggest thing to come out of Bristol after Massive Attack and Portishead” (Logo Magazine)

As a live performer, Jen has played prestigious gigs around the world, singing with PeeWee Ellis (James Brown Band) in SW England, performing at a water ceremony with Dr Emoto in LA, at Sanctum in Bristol for Theaster Gates (Chicago).. She was a singer in the O’Roonies and sang with the esteemed Avalon State Choir in Glastonbury

She has recorded with Jean Paul Viviini (Mother Gong), and sang vocals on a version of Elegy for Strings Op 58 with Bulgaria’s 432 Chamber Orchestra..

Combining the sacred with the sublime, Sulis Hana’s unique blend of ethereal, eclectic music has earned her the honor of being compared to Thom Yorke, Portishead, early Massive Attack, Kate Bush, Enya, Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Natasha Atlas, Sandy Denny, Melanie and Joni Mitchell.

She has produced two solo studio albums and is currently working on her third, alongside producing an album with her Dad, Frank Wilson and his harmonica songs. Her beloved Dad, Frank Wilson is in his tenth year with dementia. Remarkably, his music has been the one thing he hasn’t forgotten!
